Hello all,

As you can tell I have just signed up for this site, it looked like it was the best fourms for firebirds and seems like it. I just recenly purchaced a 1989 formula 350 firebird for 2,700 dollars. The odometer reads 104k and seems like it runs like it. It has an exhaust leak and won't pass admissions yet. I'm thinking about having a friend help me jack the car up since I have the lifts and try and patch up the leaks just so I can get current tabs. In the future I would like to add exhaust, but that is going to take some time and research becuase I can never decide on what I want. I would like something that doesn't make my car sound like an airplane.. haha.

If anyone could throw some pointers at me that would be amazing. I plan on making this car my toy and put some time and money into it.

I look forward to talking to you all.

Hey welcome to TFS Chris! Yup, you're right this definitely is one of the best places to go for firebird advice and help. The people on here are VERY intelligent, and between everybody on this board, we've run into every possible problem / situation you can think of, and know how to get those problems solved. Congratulations on getting your Firebird! Lets see some pics!

An exhaust leak is really a pretty easy thing to fix. You may just need some new exhaust manifold gaskets or need to tighten up some bolts or realign the exhaust. If it turns out that the exhaust actually have holes in the piping, best thing to do is to just buy a new aftermarket exhaust. But yes definitely do some research because all exhausts sound quite different for the most part.

And believe me, once you start putting money and time into your car, you wont EVER want to stop biggrin.gif I'm sure everybody else here will agree haha!

haha...Those light motors arent too too expensive and fairly easy to install...If you like them up then carry on but I know when they are down it adds that much more to the BA look of a Formula. Putting some chrome wheels on that beast would also add to the looks. Even with the stock rims its gonna have ricers running and hiding haha

What is that on the lower passenger bumper? A sticker? needs to come off or if it's body work have it repaired. The rain shot is just incredible. How about one from the rear? Great Bird! It will deliver if cared for.
