Personally I think they look OK, but definitely not for how much they cost. (Somewhere over 1K for them)

they look like toyota celica lights.....the flip up are like, firebirds and trans ams....even the corvettes switched over to non flip up. I dont like them too be honest, takes away from the menacing looks.

Not a fan, looks way ricey to me.

maybe with some night shade though...?

Umm...No. I think that pop up headlights,( even as troublesome as they can be) are one of the defining features of the 4th gen Bird. I really like the looks of mine up the very few times I drive it at night. It's the only time I can actually see the front end of the car through the windshield LOL! unsure.gif

I do have to agree, i like the flip lights much much more, but if it's what you want to do go for it. I really dont think it looks anywhere near as bad as the LS1 fixed headlights, and i think it may just take some getting used to. I have always LOVED the flip lights on the LT1 birds though...it makes the car look so much more aggressive.
MasterTomos
Really, people dont like the LS1 headlights compared to the LT1?

I much prefer the LS to the LT lights...

geuss that goes to show that nobodies opinion really matters but yours when it comes to cosmetics...
Freshbake
haha no no i meant the fixed headlights for the LS1 are way worse than the fixed for the LT1.

i should've been more detailed. conversion on the light themselves. not the assemblies. just like an h4 conversion to improve the lighting
Freshbake
Oooohhh haha whoops. I know that somebody on Ebay sells them, not sure of the seller's ID though...

I did the conversion, it's really simple, there's not much to it. Can't really say there was a vast improvement, but they do look nicer. Got mine from the seller ProStreetLighting on ebay. Great guy, I've had to order a few different things from him and shipping is always pretty quick. Anything specific you were wanting to know?
johnniereb
yeah. i'm curious about price, how long the install would take, and if the kit is capable of handling hid

Okay, first off you cannot convert sealed beams straight to HID.

However, you can get a conversion kit for a "EURO/DIAMOND CRYSTAL STYLE" type headlight (about $50). These will convert your sealed beams to H4 bulbs. H4 bulbs are MUCH brighter (no more yellow lights) and they should fit great.

Try these first they should be bright enough for what you're looking for but if they still aren't bright enough for you then using these new casings that are NOT sealed beams you can then convert to HID if wanted but in order to convert to HID you must first convert to these.

Please note: HID kits run anywhere from about $50-$150. Just make sure you buy the HID's from a trustworthy company and dont go too cheap because a cheap/bad HID system can screw up your electric system or even cause fires!

I have noticed a big improvement when I converted the H4 to HID. In my opinion it was well worth the investment.
