whats going on guys, im thinking about buying this SLP exhaust system...

http://marylandspeed.com/slp-modular-exhau...042a-p-237.html

I was wondering if this was the cheapest place to purchase this setup?
Is this one of the loudest exahust systems you can get for a LS1?
Is the loudmouth 1 exhaust louder then the loudmouth 2?
Finally, i live in a dorm at college so i dont have the tools or space to install it myself, so if i take it to a place like Big Als how much am i looking at for installation?

Ill prob call around in a few days to get some estimates on price cost but id like to hear your opinions on what you think or what you payed so i know what sounds like a good deal or not... Thanks for your time and any feedback appreciated.

first off, I feel your pain of having a car like this and living in the dorms! haha smile.gif

second of all, SLP loudmouth is probably the loudest exhaust you can buy for these cars, yes.

third off, I believe maryland speed is the cheapest seller of that exhaust system other than if you can find something on ebay from an independant person...as far as retail goes, it's the cheapest there Ive seen...

lastly, a shop should be able to do it in a few hours if that...it'd prolly just be handier and much less time consuming for them to do it...

Loudmouth 1 is louder than loudmouth 2, 2 is also more of a refined sound. Somewhere on here are some soundbites to listen to the different applications Don't know tne link though, sorry.

haha ya im glad someone feels my pain... i can't do anything lol.... just getting the car washed is a pain lol... Thanks for the info though... how much do you think they will charge me for the few hours that they are working on it?

I had a Mufflerman Shop install my old Catback back in 2000 they only charged $100 to remove the old and hang/weld up the new one.
My current Mufflex 3.5" SOTL system I did myself in the driveway. I had to fabricate a few things to make it fit tight and without rattles but it wasn't bad. Hardest part was removing the old rotted system.

in smaller towns it seems about $60 or $70 an hour...but you'll have to call around to be sure...

If you get LoudMouth(or usually any SLP part for that matter) they fit perfect, you could install with basic hand tools and a couple jackstands in your friend's driveway in less than an hour. You could probably do in AutoZone parking lot. I did mine, and seriously, getting the old off is the toughest part. Take some time to do this light mod, you'll know your car better plus keep spme $$$$ in your pocket for more parts!!!

It's easier than you think to do it yourself. I installed my SLP Loudmouth I in my garage using nothing but simple hand tools. It is very easy, the only part you have to make sure you check well is that all of the gaps in the pipes (connections) are fully sealed and clamped down to insure there are no exhaust leaks. This was a bit difficult for me and i had to go back under there a few times to get it right. And if you do the job yourself, do not overtighten the clamps cause once you crimp these stainless pipes, you can forget about getting them apart again. Overall, it's a very easy job.

And yeah, that's the cheapest price i was able to find on the SLP loudmouth exhaust...and believe me i searched for a loooong time. Get it, and you wont regret it haha!
