so my trans mission is deff goin out...BUT it drives in all gears just when i let off the throttle when manually shifting or in any gear but UD i can watch the rpms drop like i have a manual car and im pushin in the cluth..then i can rev it up till the rpms cath with the speed im moving then it grabs and goes..it does this in 1st 2nd and D not OD..and i can downshift and not feel anything..like i have a clutch pushed in..its wierd i think its more my torque converter than my tranny..what do yall think?

Sounds like it is low on fluid.

That's what i think also. These transmissions run on hydraulics and if there isn't enough fluid, it will do exactly these things.

it cant be low on fluid because the day it started messing up i topped the fluid off...it was low like a 1/2 qt. but ill check again just to make sure.

If it's not low on fluid then theres a problem with the pump.

its really odd how its operating..i would think that if i can bring the rpms up when manually shifting then let off the throttle and they just drop to idle and i can revv the engine in gear that those gears wouldnt drive at all..very starnge. i found a tranny for 200 with a converter this kids got i know but he hasnt emailed me back yet. he also has a complete LS1 swap with 95 k miles from a 2000 totaled trans am. it comes with wiring harness, engine complete and running ready to drop in, and transmission witrh a shift kit he says . all for 2500.
