for these types of cars, it seems that people steer clear of goodyear.
they seem to be better for passenger/all season car tires, not so much performace unless you go with the Goodyear Eagle F1's, which usually come in at over $300 a tire, but hey, Lingenfelter puts them on their cars....so that has to say something

it seems they are overpriced in the first place, and everyone knows that when it comes to performance, you usully get what you pay for
As for the sumitomos, yes, sumitomos are cheap, Z rated tires, and they grip good, but they wear FAST-and by that I mean you'll be replacing your tires in a year depending upon how you/ how much you drive...
Example:a summer and a half of driving on the 315's on my car driven pretty normally, nothing too excessive at all and they read 0/32nds on a tread depth reader, they are absolutely done...
Read up on your tires before you choose, because they are all very very different. From my experience on these cars this is what I've concluded so far from my/all my buddy's f bodies:
Firestones: decent, medium traction, not too expensive, and last a decent while if you treat them right
Cooper Cobras-garbage, good if you wanna put on a smoke show, but horrible traction, pretty soft and don't squeal very loud, not worth the money
Sumitomos-great tire when they are new, but they wear fast, they squeal real good with tread on 'em

Cooper Zeons-spend the extra cash to get the Zeons over the cobras...enough said
BF goodrich drag radials-hook and book....all business no play (hard to spin)
Kumho Ecstas-wear kind uneveny notoriously, but cheaper, and a good tire for the money
thats my .02
get street tires if you drive on the street/like to play
get drag radials if you want to hook and book, but hard to do burnouts without a wetbox
