does anyone know what the little circuit board looking things on the back of the original door speakers are? when i replace them do i leave it attached to the speaker wire? will any type of speaker work to replace them? any info would be appreciated !

Your car probably has the Delco/Bose system and my guess is that they are Bose contour networks for the speakers. If you don't replace with OEM type speakers, I'd leave them off and check if you like the sound coming out of the aftermarket speakers. I can tell you that my 94 did not have the Bose system and the speakers did not have that little circuit board attached--so, based on that, I'd say it goes with the Bose speakers.

that circut board is a crossover for the tweeter. If you replace the door speaker, reconnect the board to the speaker unless you get a replacement that comes with another crossover and speaker. the board regulates what frequency to send to which speaker, if you dont want to put it in i would recommend disconnecting your tweeter all together

x2 I typically disconnect the factory tweeter when changing speakers. Unless you really need that extra treble the aftermarket speakers are more then likely good enough with what they have
