I want to buy a k&n fuel injection performance kit but the one that they make will not fit a car with traction control.my 97 formula has traction control.I just dot understand what this has to do with air flow to the engine.I also want to buy a aftermarket cat back exhaust system.I can not have headers because of emissions testing where i live.Does any body have ay suggestions on a cat back system thanks
Tyler
There is probably something that is mounted under the hood that would be in the way of the K&N kit. You might be able to relocate whatever it is but I dont know.

I cant see why you cant use emission legal headers since they keep the OEM AIR injection system. You might want to ask about that. The main thing to ask yourself on the cat-back system is this. Do you want one that will last years, like Magnaflow? Or do you want one that is a good bang for the buck, like a Flowmaster system. They will cost accordingly.

Well I have the CAI on my 97 and the only thing I had to move was the thing for the lights and that was it. Works fine. And as for headers I live in Cali where emissions is, ugh. I just have sum BBK shorties in mine.

thanks for the info. I am going to order the k&n kit and hope for the best.I was leaning towards the magna flow system based upon reviews but i wanted to make sure i was going in the right direction.I dont think i will mess with the hassel of shorty headers.I will probably buy a set of pace setter log tube and just change everything every 2 years when my e test is due.

Once you go thru the hassel of installing headers on an LT1 you wont want to do it again w/o getting paid for it. Plus, with long tubes the Y pipe will have to be changed every time to.
