I'm new here and just got my first TA. It's a 97 convertible with the L1 engine. I was wondering if anyone could tel me if there is a cluch addjustment on the power antenna motor that could be tightened up. My antenna goes up and down but it will not fully retract like it used to. It stops about 3 inches short of being fully down.

is it bent anywhere (even if only slightly)?

after a bit it started grinding real bad when it went down(when it decied that it wanted to go down)...so..i unhooked the power and now its just straight up and it stays there...

Yes I think thats what happened. It don't look bent but It may be slightly out of line. Yesterday it decided to go down all the way. I have lubed it but that did not seem to help. Thought there may be a way to tighten the clutch or adjust the force it pulls down with. It don't need much. I remember the old type had a nut and a locking nut that you could tighten a quarter turn at a time to increase the tension on the clutch. Just wondering if anyone has tryed this on these ones.

Im not sure if there is or not, ive never noticed one. Take out your spare tire and take a look, it's behind it in the passenger's side in your trunk...(im prety sure its the same on convertibles)
