I did mine almost 10 years ago since it seemed logical to get the sensor away from excessive heat produced in the stock location, and placed it into the bottom of my Moroso air filter in my CAI (which is low and away from the engine).
I havent had a problem, but there are some that say this is not a good idea because it is tricking the computer that the air is cooler than it actually is (I thought it was better than the resistor mod or the SLP sensor that tells the PCM it's 57* all the time, whereas mine will never read a temperature colder than the outside air temperature). Plus, I believe the WS6 actually has the IAT sensor right in the filter box.
Any disadvantage on the way I did it? Should I have not done it in addition to the Hypertech Power Tuning? Thanks?
