When I did them on my 94 I just used a ball joint press from Autozone rent a tool program. And on a couple it pushed out the center leaving the metal part in the control arm so I just used a dremel wth a cutting wheel and a hammer and chisel to remove them the rest of the way. Putting the new ones in went a lot smoother. I removed them the same way on my 87, but installed them with a press because I had to take it into the shop to press the ball joint in because I couldn't get it to go with the hand ball joint press. So I figured why press any of it in by hand at that point. I think using an actual press can be a lot easier than all the hand cranking. And is sometimes easier to get things squared up than with the hand press. Either way will get the job done tho.
