had not posted in a while been busy with things. last year competed in powerlifitng event, hadnt competed since 2005 but mostly smaller federations at local meets, i train year round even if i dont compete. last year i decided to compete in WABDL went to a southern regional meet in dallas where i got 1st in my divison with a 512 lbs bench press which qualified for the worlds meet in vegas at the end of year, got second in my divison but was a tx state record with a 552 lbs bench press. its pretty intense training for a much bigger event where you gotta fly outa state for the finals. last year my wife also compete in the NPC golds gym clasicc figure, and i did most of her training and her show was 4 weeks before my worlds in vegas so all that keep us busy most of 2008.
this year wife and i are competing again shes a figure competer, starts here diet tomorow so that s*$ks, i powerlift so i can eat what ever as long as i keep it clean but when she goes to the groceries she dosnt buy whatever so wee forced to kinda eat like her diet (our son hates contest training time no mcdonalds for him) and her show is early oct. iv been training for a month now and going to houston for the 2009 WABDL southern regonal meet just gonna lift enough to qualify and make it to worlds again and let it all out at the finals, gonna try and go for a 600 lb bench press.
and thats my update.
as far as cars go my 95 stang- driver side window broke on highway when a small rock form a trailer passing by hit it and the small shop that replace the window screwed up the inside workings so when you roll down the window it falls of the track, need to replace a conv top latch and decided to rearange and add some gauges, 94 formy opti went out again, got fix that. my daily driver 99 malibu water pump gasket went out and its a pita to replace since its all one casting with the timing cover. wifes 00 malibu runs fine, wifes 01 formy still runnig strong still stock, got waiting in the garage some denso plugs along with gmpp wires as part of tune up, k/n filter with a slp lid and slp ypipe. gonna add them at once see if this will help break the car into a the 12's and leave it alone after that(unless wife changes her mind about adding ls6 head and cam).
added a another car to the fleet a 95 mustang gt 5speed. same color and options that i wanted when i was 18 but coulndt afford one at the time and settled with a 95 v-6 stang. i really like the lines of the sn95 and its the last year with the 302. 4.6 are a pita to work on, i will install factory manifolds on a lt1 any day over working on a 4.6, plus sohc not to savy on that. 1 car- 1 cam- 1 timing chain. been on the market for a sn95 with a 302 but every time i would see one for sale the interior was shot, engine been molested, tranny scratching. this one was bone stock down the paper filter factory radio still in, leather seats in good condition with 73k on the clock. just gonna add a ford racing e-cam with a ford racing t-chain, a OEM 95 cobra intake manifold and ford racing 3.55 or 3.73 gears to keep it with the ford parts bin theme. instead of opening the hood and seen edelbrock this and trick flow that msd here and k/n there. just planing on using it as we use the 01 formy as a occasional driver to go to movies or going to beach.

long but thats my update.

Who needs a floor jack with you around? That is sweet, but Bonnie is correct. We want more!

website-WABDL go under state records scroll down to the bench press class-1 divison at the 256 body weight, is the main federation i compete in, i dont think the 2008 dallas numbers are there. if you go under meet results for worlds 2008 class-1 im second place cause thats what i placed since its a world meet but it was a tx record. think in total there were competedters from 10 countries. also entered the open divison there but i bombed it so under that division there 0's next to my name. also APA federation go to meet results 2008 place mcallen,tx nov 22 meet, got the meets numbers or scroll down to sport strenght and it will show and index at the bottom click ont the 275(i think) body weight cat and it should show the numbers. did the bench press and the sports strenght. the apa meet was done one week after the world wabdl meet in vegas which was when i condition for my strengh to peak. so when we got back from vegas after all the craziness of flying to vegas the intense focus and conditoning and the partying afterwards i was a bit drained, but took the next week off the gym gathered my strenght, rested, carb up and did one more push and competed on the APA meet. i didnt go for max effort there just went in lifted enough to place 1st and sit back. ill see if i can post a vid just gotta figure out how to do it, im not computer savy
its the first time i compete in WABDL but i liked it thats why i train for those meets and if i do any other federation like APA or USPF i just go enter to measure my progress and get a trophy at the same time. the president of WABDL is gus wreithish (last name not spelled right) he was a champion powerlifter in the late 70 early 80s came out in a few movies with arnold also the scorpion king, not major roles mostly like a hugh bodyguard on a few scences, stuff like that.
its not theat hard to fit cars and weight lifting together, being weightlifting since i was 16 and into cars since i was 24, actually when you become a gym rat, you skip a work out day you dont feel right. going to the gym and playing with wrenches is like eating- it just happens. my training mirrors that of a bodybuilder in the offseason, its just i go heavy on everthing and put special attention to the bench and deadlift. works out is only like 1hr to 1 1/2 hr so its not like im stuck at the gym for 5 hrs.for example monday chest and tri's, tue back and bi's wed off thur shoulders, fri off sat legs and deadlift, sun off. it the days i bench press and deadlift that i go in there focus, lift at 90 to 95 % gripping chalk flying, sniffing amonia. those days that after i finish and adrenaline and energy drinks wear off i come crashing down after i eat the last thing i want to do is lay on the porch floor and fight a optispark. but yeah if the car is on floor jacks and im laying down i can massage a tranny out onto the floor.
