I spoke with my friend today,( GM Powertrain retiree). He said that it's reported that GM is keeping some models of Pontiac alive, selling them through Chevy or Buick. He said he heard the G8 and some others. Maybe looking to keep a little of the performance division around? Anyone else heard any of this? Dave.

I hope so. If they do it right they can always bring it back, but doubtful. I really like the G8, nice to see a domestic compared to be better than a high end import.

I heard they were going to do this but our government stepped in and said no (more or less). It's my understanding that Pontiac is getting axed. Yes,there are fools in charge.

This is what I heard from Scott Settlemire. Pontiac was going to be a subdivision of Buick but the gov said no.

Exactly the reason I said they should of filled for chapter 11 before asking for Gov money.
At least then they would have been in charge of their own destiny.

Chapter 11 doesn't necessarily mean the government isn't still in charge. After all who runs the bankruptcy courts?
