I had a set of the ludmouths on my 98 Formy, and used to set off alarms every where I went.

Sweet. Oh that reminds me, I live in cali so a lot of things are a no-no for me. But I found a set-up for Pasesetter LT's with a metalic dual cat'd y-pipe. What would be your guy's recomendation on this? Right now I have BBK shorties.

IIRC Cali. requires the cats to be in the stock location so NO to LT's

Yea but the system has all the places for the sensors and everything. And who's gonna know?

You still need to pass inspection and the Smog test don't you ?
And if the cats are not in the stock loaction you would fail and therefore not be able to renew your registration or license plates.

But the cats are still b4 the sensors. And whats this inspection stuff? I've never had to have any of my cars inspected.

Oh the only "Inspection" that we have is if you buy a used car privately then you gotta take it down and see if all the lights and horn works. Smog they just hook up the lil sensor thing to the tailpipe and thats it.

I do know that Cali. and a few other states have stricter laws then the rest of the country. I would find out for sure before you do anything. In Michigan we haven't had AET testing since 1996 so it's sort of a free for all for the performance people.

Personally, I'd just leave the BBK shorties on it. As long as they aren't causing any problems that is. If you want to lower your car, the Pacesetter Longtubes are definitely a bad idea. I have smoked mine on a few dips. Idk how strict Cali laws are on visual inspections, so I agree with 9T8WS6 on checking the laws and such. And will the cats be before all 4 sensors or between the 2 on each side?

There is no inspection if ur car is like 96-97 and newer w/ the exception of what I said before. I made a mistake, its Kooks LT's. The cats are at the end of the Y-pipe on each side where it connects up to the headers. The shorties aren't causing any problems, its just that I keep hearing about how much better LT's are so I am going to get them. Don't mean to sound rude or anything, but it is my car and I do appreciate the advice guys.

I hear that Kooks are pretty good. You will definitely get a sound difference from adding LTs. I felt like I lost a little backpressure when I put mine on...but then again there were many different problems going on at the time. And sweet deal on Cali inspections...thought they were a little more strict.

Well Im hoping that with the cats on the y-pipe that it wont happen. Yea my step-dad got his Metro smog'd like last year or summin and they just did the tail-pipe thing. Guess it all depends on where you go.

I'm sure you'll be fine. Are you going to use a different tune for after you get the headers?
