Hi Everyone.....Today I am so sad. My firebird's steering column has some problems.....first...the ignition...the wires on the inside of the column from the key ignition are very brittle and just about to break. The dimmer switch rod is bent ....my horn dont work because the lil connectors under the air bag are broke off.my mechanic is telling me it would be so much cheaper to find an entirre steering colum....which I havent been very successfull at yet. My car has a airbag in the steering wheel....seems to be makeing it more dfficult....it also has a chip in the key. is this all typical stock things for a 91 firebird? Oh and my widnshield wipers are only going up about an inch now and shorts out the raido...my mechanic says short in the swtich....my switch has cruise control and wipers and turn signal all in one

window motors on both sides
K&N Air filter
new elec trunk latch
i cant remember what else lol
i just keep trying to restore her to her original beauty....shes my baby....if anyone can help me find a steering column for it I hould be ever so greatfull....I guess I should also add, I drive this car everyday while i get this stuff done so i would like to try and find what i need real quick.Right now I dont drive when it might rain or at dark :-(

also, could someone tell me which years will work for replaceing the steering column...is it only 91?

ok I might be talking to myself but here is what i now know....incase anyone else ever needs the info .....
I can use 90-92 steering column for my 91 firebird ...AND...... a great place to start looking for used parts like this is car-parts.com.....well i should clarifiy....I ordered my steering column for this site,which is more less a parts data base for alot of companies....I will let you know when my parts arrive and if they are all in working order when I get them.

do you still need this? i have a steering coulm from a 91-92 bird complete with correct key and the VATS module to this setup all from the same car. $100+ ship which "shouldnt" be anymore than $20 or so. i have one person that "says" they want it but you are next if the back out.
