Full Version: V-6 cat converter question

Apparently mines bad after we replaced the sensors first, have 120 K miles on it.
Can I cut out the existing stock converter ? ....if so and whats the best fit converter and make, model # if anyone knows. I need to be compliant with N.Y. regulations.

I really don't want to spring $350-$550 on a complete unit that includes right up to the manifolds as the replacements parts I've seen so far.
I can clean cut and am an experienced welder.
Has anyone else just cut out the old and what did you replace it with?

Check Summit, they have a few that would work. I picked up a CATCO for about $30. It did well, until it met with a speed bump that is.

OK, Summit is the one I had in mind for getting a replacement.
I'll post afterwards what I used and any difficulties I may have on the installation.
