Hi all. I'm Bob from SC. In 1980 I was looking for a 67-8 Firebird when I came across a 68 RS/SS Camaro convertible. Next month I'll have owned the car 29 years. I've always been a fan of 1st, 2nd, and 4th gen Firebirds. Oddly I like the 3rd gen Camaro over the Birds of that era (I think it's the double headlamp thing like 1st and 2nd gen Birds)
Anyway I was looking for a silver 2002 Trans Am convertible when I came across the Black Bird at a used car lot here in Columbia. It was somewhat neglected and the dealer could not prove what the car was. It took me 6 weeks of verifying and haggling to get the car. Being a stickler for stock, I've brought the car back to original condition. It is 1 of 2 triple black convertibles produced by GMMG. The other Triple black car has been modded up - so mine is the only surviving original example. The only thing different from when it rolled off the showroom floor is that it is now signed by Scott Settlemire- VP GM incharge of F-bodies and authorizor of the Black Bird program as well as by Matt Murphy, owner of GMMG who did the upgrades. I also have some carbon fiber fuel rail covers and a shock tower brace- but I remove them for shows.
I love to cruise in this car!
