Anyone run retro badges or decals on their 4th gen? I see the Camaro guys use 1st gen badges, I think they look pretty good.

I really like the 2nd gen Bird emblems, I was thinking of trying a few on my '00, maybe a 2nd gen bird between the tails and a mid 70's 'FORMULA' decal on the rear bumper.

Anyone ever try this?

You have the same year Formy as mine biggrin.gif What color and how many miles? I've often wondered about some decals to dress it up/ personalize it. Never really seen any with them.Anyone else have any ideas?

It's Navy Blue Metallic with tan leather. I absolutely love this color combo, I fell in love with the car the minute I saw it.

I bought it in Aug of '07 with 65k, I just hit 91k last week.

Most people do the contrasting color emblem overlays and rear 'PONTIAC' fill ins, which look good. I want to do something a bit different though, which is why I'm thinking of going with 2nd gen emblems.

I was thinking of going with the same color schemes as the 2nd gens, where the blue car would have lighter shades of blue in the decals. Either that or use a color scheme similar to the 'Bird that is this site's logo. I like the charcoal/blue combo.

They also have'FORMULA' door decals that are 44" long, I'm not sure about those though, that might be a little TOO much.

I've always liked the retro theme also.

This could be used on the sailpanels or on the doors above the name emblems.

Just want you guys to keep in mind that sometimes less in more. You can over do it and put too much stuff on the car and make it look busy. Also a set of Torque Thrust Wheels can really accent the retro theme.

I used the 70's style RAM AIR decal on my hood and an older style Hurst badge on the rear bumper. It even threw off the inspection guys at the T/A Nats one year.

Yeah, I've seen that badge on LS1 Tech. I really like it, but don't know where I'd put it. I don't much care for anything on the sail panels. On the doors could work, and I actually plan on removing the side moulding and 'Formula' emblem.

And I agree with you, I think people get carried away sometimes with overlays and decals. Like I can't stand the LOTB badges on the fenders, I think it looks tacky as #####. I want to do something more on the subtle side, where people have to take a 2nd look to notice it. Which is why I think the 44" long 'FORUMLA' decals along the bottom of the doors might be a little much.

I found a site that has the decals pretty cheap, I think I'm going to buy a few different ones and see how they look.

And that hood bird looks awesome on the black T/A! I'd actually like to do one of those too, although that throws 'subtle' right out the window! I'm not sure how it would look on the flat hood though.

Personally I like the Bird emblem on the ram air hood better than the one on the flat hood, but that's just me. Now the supercharger, that's just plain cool. biggrin.gif biggrin.gif mullet.gif
