hello there i have a 93 trans am with a automatic in it question reverse is weak and i want to find one without spending all the money for a new one. how do i tell witch one i have in the car some junkyards say its a 700r4 and some say its a 4l60e it does have a detent cable and a square plug on the drivers side of it and a electronic speed senser on the tail shaft. can anybody help? thanks..

Your 93 should be a 4L60 without the E, which is the same as a 700r4. The 93 trannys weren't electronically controlled, hence the lack of an E in 4L60. Do not buy a 4L60E it won't work.

I had a 93 and mine had a 700R4 in it. I think the 4L60 may not have the TV cable but I could be wrong. The 700R4 does have it. Do a Google search.

BrdWAtti2d is right in that it is not an "E".
