Does anyone out there know if the C4 Independent Rear is capable of being adapted onto a 94 Pontiac Firebird?

And is it worth doing?

It's been done before but IMO it's not even close to cost effective.
For the rear only you can upgrade the Shocks, eliminate the Panhard, replace it with a Watts link and have a dramatic change in comtrol for far less then the cost of fabbing an IRS setup.

From what I have seen online, I can get some rather good shocks/struts for around 900$ for replacement of all four beyond the labor to get it installed (Not for lack of WANTING to do it myself but being a truck driver doesnt leave me much time to do repairs on her).

900$ for the shocks/struts is at least a solid number versus the shrug that I generally get when asking about the parts and labor for the C4 conversion.

I think I will mainstay with your suggestions - far more reasonable.

You must be talking about Koni S/A's as their in the $900 price range
I have the koni's along with Strano Springs and Strano's 35/22 Hollow Swaybar set and the difference from stock is night and day.

I have been looking at Strano Performance's website and am trying to find a performance system for suspension - what all would you probably suggest?

I was looking at:
201723 - LCA / PHB Package
Hollow Front / Adj Rear - 35mm hollow front 22mm adj rear
and either the IAS coil-over shock kit or SLP bilstein and eibach shocks and springs
then I was looking at the stage 3 front suspension kit
as well as the shock tower brace.

The biggest negative about the IAS coil over system is that I would have to come up with appropriate rear springs.

My reccomendation would be the setup that I have, although when I purchased mine 2yrs ago Sam didn't have the Adj rear swaybar.
The linchpin of any suspension setup are the shocks and you can't do better then Koni's IMO. Their quality and superior valving are second to none for a regular replacement type shock. And Sam's Springs well, the fact that their usually all presold before the shipment arrives is a testament to how good they are.
I've been driving mine daily for almost 2 yrs now and it's awesome. The ride is firm like you would expect from a sportscar without being harsh like a racecar. Handling is superb, theres no drama. The car maintains composure in all situations and is very confidence inspiring.
My next suspension purchase (when funds allow) will be the Watts link, as I've heard it makes everything come together.
