Full Version: turn signals stay on..

i just got this car its a 96 TA it needs little stuff here and there...but i went to turn and hit the blinker and the light in the cluster stayed on until i turned the blinker off...so i checked them noth and they are doing the same thing..they dont flas outside either..they just stay on...anyone know why?

after reading another post about the same problem, i read about if the flashers flash and the blinkers dont its most likeley the flasher is bad since they are on seperate flashers or whatever...the only thing to cause both not to work at all would be a bad circuit...right?

There is only one flasher that I know of. If one of the signal bulbs are burned out it wont flash either.

Since this car is all new to you,maybe you should get a service manual at AutoZone? I have one for everything I drive.

Check the bulbs front and back and make sure someone didn't put the wrong type bulbs in there. If they did it will show the symptoms you described. Otherwise. The flashers and blinkers has seperate relays, so yes one could work and the other not. Note hazard flasher and turn signal flasher in this pic.

I know, I know, but somebody is going to say it.... Did you check the flasher fluid levels?

as a matter of fact i did try to check that but i just couldnt find it >:0 i looked all over the net and in the manual and im totally stumped..GRRRRRR..
