well just got back from this years WABDL worlds championships in reno nv.
got 1st in the submaster 259 div with a 567.5 lbs in the benchpress and 4th in the open. tried 578 on 3rd attempt but was shy about 3 inch of lockout. i was shooting for 600. 2 weeks before competition i had press 600 off a one board but after that felt overtrained and had a hard time handling weights, overtrained and diet change affected me. started dieting to meet weight to a more bodybuilding style diet high protein low carb and fats. and when your nearing a powerlifting comp one needs to up carbs and calories. wrong timing for dieting this way, peaked to early.
earlier this year at the reginoal qualifier in houston. i got 1st in submaster with a 545.5 and second attempt went to 555 but they missloaded with 580 and didnt get it. by the time i realized the missload it was to late to change weight for the 3rd attempt, by then my mindset was off and didnt get it on 3rd attempt so got stuck with the 545, was 1st place still
