hey guys... so i was driving my 95 formula and it was making a minor noise then by the end of the day it sounded horrible... i took it to a nearby mechanic and he told me that i blew my engine sad.gif i put it on the road with tags and title the morning the engine blew and by 3 it was done.... the mechanic suggests the guy before me raced the crap out of it then put the stock parts back on it then sold it to me... it only has 72000 miles.. the only mods on it are drilled and slotted rotors... im pissed... anyway i was thinking,,, what would i have to do to put a ls1 in my car??? and do u no where i could buy a lt1 or maybe ls1 with low miles and in good running condition? thanks alot Luke

Honestly by the time you were done with the swap you could have just gone out and bought an LS1 car for about the same money and a lot less headaches. Putting an LS1 into an LT1 car isn't anything like a direct bolt on. You'll end up swapping half the car.

Stick with the LT1 save yourself a big headache and alot of money, though about doing the swap to my 95 but after looking into it decided against it, so got a supercharger instead, now the LS1 can kiss my butt unless it is a LS1 with a supercharger laugh.gif

check this two articles out and you will be fine with a LT1 smile.gif

Good articles there!

I agree that it would cost a fortune. The performance you gain per dollar will be disappointing. I would pull the motor and fix whatever is messed up. While it was out I would get head work done and swap in a good cam. You'll spend a lot less and be ahead of a stock LS1 in performance.

ok well thanks for shooting down that idea haha... ok well i found a place that sells rebuilt engines for $1800 and they have a 3yr unlimited mile warranty.. thats my best option right now check out the site and lemme know what you guys think www.powertrainproducts.net thanks

I'm gonna agree with everyone that sticking with the LT1 is the better route. When you get the rebuilt engine and have it installed...make sure to keep the old one. Use that for your build up engine.

yeah thats what i was thinking .. build up the old one maybe stroke it ... i was thinkin once im done fixing that motor put it back in my car and then buy a little ricer car like a miata 240 rx7 or something llike that and put the other lt1 in it... it would haul some serious rearend cause those cars are so light ha

I would swap the LT1 into an S-10. They even make conversion kits for that, much easier and would also be quick... and cool! mullet.gif
