Paul,
Venom is right on the money about this supercharger. I think you look at this thing as a way of making tons of hp and you are correct. A supercharger such as this will drastically increase the torque output of your engine and I like them. However, the description of this part gives you absolutely zero info on whether or not it is sized to fit your engine. To make matters worse, these things are only sold with a kit that is designed for your specific application--that kit should include everything, including any info needed to tune the PCM. Without all those parts that are probably not available separately, this supercharger is a waste of money, and you'll have to try to sell it to someone else.
Your best bet is to find a kit on the Internet and buy the whole thing--and get one with the hp output that you want. The only mods needed to adapt it to your engine are generally zero. Yeah, that's right! Zero! The proper kit is virtually a turn key installation--install it then start the engine. Trouble is, a full kit can come to about $5,000 or so. And, if you decide you want to go with the full zoot hp output, the engine will have to be modded (new crankshaft, lower compression, forged pistons, different injectors, PCM tuning, different rods) and that generally means an engine overhaul with the rcommended parts. But, once completed, the engine will be reliable and nothing short of a ZR1 Corvette will be able to keep up with your car. I've heard rumors about guys that blocked the front wheels, fired up the engine and then were able to turn the Earth beneath the rear wheels. It's probably not true, but you get the idea.
I've actually built an engine with a supercharger on it and can tell you, that the hp increase was phenominal--I could feel the exhaust. at idle, about 3 ft away from the end of the exhaust pipe.
Good luck on this idea and don't give up on it. The only cure for hp is more hp!
