ohmy.gif So, I bought my darling wife a '94 Formula. It had fifty thousand hard miles on it. But, it is low mileage and a LT1. Anyways, it was owned by a fat freakin' pig who appeared to have no mechanical ability what-so-ever and enjoyed eating his meals in the 'bird and generally soiling the poor girl to a state of disgust....

So, I took the entire interior apart and began fixing all the broken pieces (did I tell you that the driver's side window has not sealed for about 4 years. Here in Oregon it does rain; the leaked water, food stuffs, and old french fries made a slurry fit for a hog). I can't get the e-brake reinstalled. The wire hook and handle are giving me freakin' fits.

I am going to post some pics of this process..... from turd.... to polished turd wink.gif

I've never had that apart on mine. Maybe someone else here has but I'd like to see pics of it all the same.

It looks fairly straight forward..... but there is a wickedly contorted steel hook that goes in behing the handle and is engaged by the thumb release button.

Looking forward to the pic's, well maybe not so much to the turd ones! unsure.gif . This guy should have had a honda or a toyoto to trash out, not a Bird. Anyway God Bless you for rescueing her and bringing her back to a respectable condition. Sorry I can't help with the E-brake, but I'm sure there's someone on here who knows. Good luck with the wife's new Bird man! Dave

Thanks.... I look at the Bird like a 30ish hot sexy fast woman that just needs my loving hands to massage and at tines discipline her a bit wink.gif

Everything that has been written in forums that can be ignored and lead to problems is present... corrosion in the coil wire... upper radiator hose leak.... blah blah blah..... but the car is curvy and lord she could wail even with the abuse she has suffered. I just bought a set of Z06 wheels and meats for her.... a lady needs a good set of shoes to feel good about herself... right??? wink.gif

Right on dude! I sometimes refer to my Bird as my misstress. Good thing my wife has a sense of humor, hope yours does too laugh.gif Seriously though, I think these cars are about the sexiest designs out there.

Come on seriously..... someone has to have taken the console apart and cleaned and reassybled it....

Console removal shouldn't be that difficult. Should be held in by screws, bolts, and maybe some clips. Some may be hidden, just start looking for points of attachment. Or if you don't want to wing it try to get a hold of a GM shop manuel. Dave

Come on team.... I need to get the passenger side seat back in (the cats are using it for a bed). How do you get the brake lever back together? There is a 4" hardened wire hook that has some purpose....?????

I havent done it myself but my car's emergency brake hasnt been connected since I bought it.

If you find out, i'd love to know.

My baby has seen more trouble than I care to admit as I try to restore her.

You had the pig who owned yours - mine was previously owned by a drug runner >.<

Every possible panel having been broken to store 'goods'.

My seals for the ttop are more of a windshield wiper than anything.
