Have enjoyed the stay in Japan and particularly will miss looking at cars with names like "Joy Pop" emblazoned across their backsides. Let's not forget the Honda "Move", which is a contradiction in terms with it's anemic little 660cc engine...ugh! Or drag racing another Kei car with our Scubaru Impreza Casa Blanca (Special Edition) and its 4 cam 110 hp, 1,500 cc engine with the "Power" button on the shift lever and its crappy stereo.
Won't miss the weather with the nearly 100% humidity and 90 degree heat in the dead of summer, or the near freezing temps we are going through right now, or even the typhoons (Man-Yi hit us on July 13, 2007, with 170 mph steady winds!). This year promises to be a bad one for typhoons, so we are escaping just in time.
But will miss the local music, real Japanese sushi, the warmth and friendliness of the people, the exotic scenery (Okinawa is gorgeous), the snorkeling on the coral reef just under our balcony, the million dollar view over Naha Bay all the way to the Carema Islands and laid back lifestyle--they might be crazy drivers, but at least they do it slowly. What more could you want? Well, for one thing, I'd like a garbage disposal in my sink!!
Not sure how often will be able to connect to the Inernet with the laptop, but if possible, will check back from time to time.
