I might have to go out of state to work, where can I find some information on what to do with my firebird if it sits for a couple of months?

That's easy...just do an archive search. There are topics all over this forum about that subject. Basic things to do: make sure the battery is fully charged and then disconnect the battery cables. Pump up the tires or put the car on jackstands to get the tires off the pavement. Wax the paint and put a car cover on it to keep critters out of the air intakes and the dirt off the car. Don't forget to fill up the gas tank and then pour in a can of "Stabil" I think that is the spelling--it keeps the gas fresher, although the gas should be OK for a several months.
Back in 2000-2001 my car was down and out while the heads were being ported and polished, plus a general overhaul of the engine and other parts. Although it was in my locked garage, and was like being stored for about 4 months, when it was finally started, the A/C fan blew tons, and I mean that literally, of dust out of the vents right into my eyes. Had a car cover, but never used it and I should have.
