i have a 96 ws6 6speed car..a buddy of mine was driving one night and decided to get on the car while i was asleep in the pass seat and he shifted from 2nd to 1st at WOT and the whole rearend of the car bounced like he was hitting the brakes and shidding on a bumby suface. as soon as the car started bouncing he pushed the clutch in asap! it still drives fine but now when i accelerate and when i let off the gas and coast i can hear what sounds like a "ticking" noise..sort of like if there was a pin hole in my exhaust or something like that..the faster i get in rpms the faster the ticking gets but quiets down some and when i push the clutch in to shift it stops then as soon as i hit the gas again it ticks..its very annoying and im wondering if there is a serious problem that i should take the car somehwre because i know these transmissions are expensive as crap..any help would be great...OH, prior to this incident when i bought the car i always heard a rattling noise when the clutch wasnt pushed in while the car is sitting still but when i pushed it in the noise stopped. someone said its my throw-out bearing?

I would check all the exhaust system bolts and make sure nothing was shaken out of place.

actually u know what..i was leaving class and it dawned on me that it could be an exhaust leak by the way it got faster and louder as i revved the throttle..so i popped the hood and i heard the noise very clearle from the pass side exhaust manifold..its an aftermarket hooker header manifold..it looks as if some paint has been chipped off from a pressure crack almost directly where the pipe meets the head..im thinking it has a crack in it...i hope thats all it is anyways..ill check it out w better light soon
