so yea....i get the fact that when you get things done to your car you should get it tuned. i just dont get it to the point of when you really actually need to get it done. not that im getting one soon. but when i get my taxes done i want to get headers and a tune i guess..but whats the deal with that.. do you need to spend a few hundred on a tune every single time you get something done. somebody please explain my simple and stupid question. sad.gif

The headers wont require a tune. It would not hurt, but not necessary. When mods are done that can have a big impact on the fuel/air ratio is when it is more important to have a tune. Or,if firmer shifts are desired or a gear ratio change is done a tune would be good to correct the computer. However,a tune alone can add some HP by bumping up the timing and making the engine run cooler. When I sent my PCM off to PCM For Less it was only $160.

so how does that work you call up pcm for less and then take out your pcm and send it to them? and i have that performance shift button anyways. so if you get tune after getting new gears in or something will that have any effect on that performance shift button. i always wondered that. and what did you get done for $160?
Tyler
You go to their website and fill out a form telling them what you want done. You send in the computer and they will send it back very quickly. I had a performance tune to work with the mods in my signature along with fan temp decrease so the car runs cooler. A hand held programmer can not do all that and cost a lot more to.
Tyler
I also have an LT4 hot cam not listed in my sig.
