When I jump terminals a+b to pull out a code, I don't get anything. The service engine soon light just stays on. Any help?

Hello,
If you are 100% sure you're jumping the right terminals (I've had my '90 'Bird for about 5 years and on occasion forget which are A + B ) you may want to try scanning it with an OBD 1 gm scanner or equivalant. God bless.
