so when im changing my fuel filter i basically know the method on taking it off and starting it back up and everything how am i depressurizing the system to start out?

If you dont have a fuel pressure tester you can wrap a rag around the shrader valve on the fuel rail and push the valve in to let it off. If you do this after the car sits all night there will be less mess.
