hi, i have a 1999 dodge ram 1500 sport 5.9 v8. i knows this is for the birds, but this site is the only place ive ever found advise that was ever worth anything.

ive had it for about 2 months now and the other day the check engine light came on, i hooked it up and got the "misfire on cylinder 6" error. ive replaced the plugs and wires and the light was out for a day then came back.

any ideas what else it may be? im told that if the cylinder misfires you can feel it missing but i cant really tell, it seems to drive ok, doesnt die and always starts right up. there is a slight tick, not sure if its related.

thanks in advance!

are there coil packs or a distributor?

distributer, i was hoping it was the plugs or wires, but if not i really hope its the cap

just take a piece of sand paper and scratch the tops of the nodes....dont wear it down to nothing, but just get it rough....a buddy of mine that works in a shop says that helps the spark hit the nodes...just a thought...if it still doesnt work...Id say replace the cap...
