After almost 15 years of daily use (August 22 is the Birds birthday observed delivery date), the air conditioner is in need of a recharge (I simply can not praise GM enough with the longevity of these cars). It uses the R12 refrigerant, is that correct? 1995 model year.

Thanks

If you're all original, there should be some notation under the hood. I tried to check my 93 but yea, the compressor is buried.
I found a website with some useful information
Automotive AC info

Your system most likely is 134a, but in the event that it is R12, you might be hard pressed to find someone to repair the system. Most systems are changed over to 134a now, which does take some work to properly do. Maybe check the technical area of the forums for more information.

Well, you are correct. I dusted off my brain, cleaned my glasses, and cleaned the blackened sticker under the hood, says use only r134a (smack - right on my forehead). Thanks for the heads up.
