Count me in around the Chicago area and north of there.  I got ripped off by some guy selling on the Internet once and it wasn't pretty.  Heh, heh, heh, heh, little does he know that when he tried to rip me off, he screwed hiimself, but that is another story.

Talking about this, I was just wondering if any of you guys have gotten an email from a guy(forget the name) asking for pictures of your car to put in a book that he's currently working on titled somenthing like The History of the Pontaic Firebird. I thought it was a little strange only cause I'm not sure how the guy got my email, name, and model year. Guess I could just ask him. Might even be a member of this board. The email sounded quite inocent and legitamate especially since he attached a link to a publishers web page listing several books coming out in this month, including one of his.
Like I said, just curious if any of you's got the same thing.

oh yeah and i asked him how he got my name and knew what year my car was, he said he got it from the formula source he must have been looking through the owners list or something.

someone should set up  a map or chart showing where all of us are located with links to their e-mail, or contact info. That way, if you find something you want, you can see who is closest and contact them.  without having to read thru this HUGE list of awesome cooperative members on this site.. This has got to be one of the BEST F-Body sites going.  

 And I agree with an earlier post on this message.. Why be divided? After all, the only difference between the camaro and firebird is the looks. It's allthe same drivetrain otherwise.  Just like all us people..It's all skin color and physical appearance on the outside, but we're all the same on the inside... at least physicly.. lol.. ;)

Something I've noticed on other boards is the common con-artist or fraud. Would any of you out there be willing to check out possible frauds for someone that is wanting to buy a product via online? If that product happens to be in your said area? I'd do it for my fellow F-body owner regardless of the fact if they own a firebird or camaro. I think in this day and age we need to help prevent the rip offs as much as possible. I think it's clear in more ways than one we need to unite instead of divide. I just want to say, if anyone comes across a product that is for sale in the NE Indiana region and it isn't more than a 50 mile radius I am willing to check into it and see if the merchandise is worth buying. And will do what I can to make sure no one gets ripped off. I was just on F-Body.com's classifieds ad part and saw that they had someone rip off a police officer. He's down right pissed. I don't blame him, he lost almost 躔. Give some feedback and let's see if there's an interest here.

I will help out in the New England area. I live near Boston. I have sold things on the net and thank god I am honest. I have seen people get screwed. I like the idea of helping each other out.

i can do it in the area of Atlanta GA to Columbia SC  im right in the middle in augusta.  keep in mind atlanta is 2 hours from me and columbia is 1 1/2 but i can do it if people need.

Hi, I'd like to start out by saying thanks to all that responded. It's been a while since I have really been able to sit down and read the posts. I also got that email but just deleted it. I figured he got my name from the owners list. I'd also like to extend my thanks to Charles for trouble shooting my car problems with me over the internet. Now back to this topic. This is great you all are willing to help. It's good to see this. This is what makes the United States so great. Thanks everyone.

I'll take everything south of doug in mass on the east coast and all of Rhode Island.  I can take up 1 and a half states because it takes 20 mins (doing 100) to get through my whole state, literally.  I'll only do it in the summer though because of my current lack of heat.

I am in Ny and I live a hour from NYC and hour from albany. IF any one needs help I wish I would have known about this. When I was looking for a car I drove 5 hours one way to look at junk with a trailer and 2 kids, not happy.

Im a truck driver always cruising through states and up and down interstates, US, state, and county roads.

More than once ive seen cars listed for sale and been like 'whoaw'.
