OK, the controversy continues, however now is a new debate. The people that have been on the forum for a while remember back when the debate came up over after aftermarket MAF sensors. Mr. Granatelli himself joined in on the forum and debated. I was one of the people wanting to purchase a GMS MAF sensor.
Well, here is another caution about GMS MAF sensors, that just arose.

Pro-M's warning on GMS MAF sensors

To give you a quick low-down. Pro-M manufactured the calibrated MAF sensors for GMS. So this means you can purchase the same MAF sensor from Pro-M for almost half the cost.
Now Pro-M has stopped producing MAF sensors for GMS. To find out more about it check out the link I posted. I don't know anything about this, I just found out that Pro-M was even a company, and don't really understand business relations like that. I just found this interesting and thought others should know too.

Why would Pro-M sell to GMS, just so GMS could slap their sticker on the product and sell it for more money? I just don't understand that.

It is more like a fight between scam artists. The MAF as manuctured by this company can't produce hp, becuz the stock MAF flows way more than any 350 cubic inch engine could ever use when tuned for street use. When tuned for all out racing, that "might" be another story altogether. However, even at that point, they are ignoring the basic theory of how this engine breathes and that is in a series of pulses each time a cylinder fills. Since not all cylinders fill at the same time, it would be kind of difficult for the flow rate to ever exceed the flow rate of the stock MAF (about 800 cfm). smile.gif

The size of the intake manifold is what really governs the breathing rate. However, too large and the column of air that fills each cylinder will take too long to get moving (air has mass). If it is too small, the intake will starve the engine for air. dry.gif

I know it's as you say. You give us the book, and we eat the covers. It's still hard to get past the customer testimonials, dyno proven runs, and the huge endorsment from auto builders.

You know, when my car hydrostatically locked on me and I called Summit tech support, the first thing they asked me was if I had a Granatelli MAF. It has me wondering what problems Summit has seen from this MAF huh.gif
