Well, after reading all of that a/b avatars in the "forum color" thread, I'd just like to voice that I understand where you're coming from a/b keeping uniformity, but I do not agree with the proposition of disallowing img's in our signatures... I think it sould be one or the other, customizable avatars at 150x150 pixil's -or- approximate banner-size img's on the signatures.... if you disallow both, then there will not be any form of individuality...

Thanks,
~Nick

I like the avatars just the way they are for all the reasons Jon stated. As far as the pics in the sigs go, I can deal with them as long as they are small. It a real pain when they are big enough to set as your desktop background. laugh.gif

I'm on a dialup, so pics are nice, but a size limit. I actually really like Tyler's pic. Not too big, quick to load, not distracting but we can see the car.....well maybe his is a bit small, I can't see the trophy good enough. biggrin.gif

yea, a small size .jpg, like the one I put in my sig tonight, is like 16k in size... TINNNNY to pull down, even for dial-up users...

Running ADSL (512k) and pics are instantaneous but when I was on dial up a 92v modem really helped and the 90v modem sucked big time. If I were in the shoes with the dial ups, I would go with a size restriction and user unique avatars. Have to agree with mxpx, size does matter...lol

WOW did I just say that?? cool.gif

well.. lets dont jump the gun on the sig pics... like i said.. that is a bit down the road.. thinking again about it// I really do not see why we should not allow them..

But I have to warn.. we have to be on the lookout for dis tasteful sig pics.. either click on the report this thread to moderator and we will get it changed.. or email me or a mod..

please understand that we are just trying to keep our site clean trying to gear it towards everyone..

and as far as size or viewing them at all.. you can elect not to view them in your control panel..
smithblmx
Jon, thats easy, a team or board panel of five or so people who can vote and have them approved that way. Sort of like a jury panel. Just a thought. cool.gif

it will be a moderated function.. if a mod sees a pic that is questionable.. then the mod will ask the member to remove it.. like in the past.. we will keep the sigs..

also.. in the new forum upgrade abilities to add multiple attachments inline within your post will now become possible...

so if you are writng a article on how to do something.. you will be able to add pictures along the way...

I still can't even figure out HOW to put a pic in my signature. Does it have to be from a website? I gotta pic on my computer of My Formula and my wife's T/A that was taken with a camera-phone so it's real small. Just cant figure how to get it from my pc to here... and I BUILT my pc blink.gif .
formula90
for right now.. it has to be hosted somewhere.. like on a website.. then just put the url to the image into your signature.. i hope this makes sense.. maybe someone around here can host it for ya.. maybe mxpx can help?
