I'm not sure what the All Gallery images is but the other one - Images posted in the Forum is where it shows whatever picture link that you have posted in a thread using the new playtoy that formula90 put up late yesterday and don't ask me how that works cause I haven't figured that out yet but I know Tyler and Wiccan1 have. But the pics in this section do not include pics that are in anyones signature though so if you've got a pic in your sig it won't show up in the Images posted in the Forums section.

You can use that to add any kind of pic to a post. When you click on it it will let you browse your computer and get a pic to show up here.It's the greatest thing since sliced bread if you ask me See................

well.. as for the members albums... first off.. before we can sort them.. we need to first find out what we allow in them..

take this into consideration for example..

lets say we have a member that uploads pics of his TA.. a 68 model.. then you have a guy that uploads pics of his old school GTO.. then the girl that uploads pics of a PRO AM.. ok... if we were to create some sort of catagory system for this, how should these catagories by called up? We cant do it by year.. because if we did, then lets say someone is looking for a 68 Formula.. then the results would resturn the 68 trans am as well... what about the corvette guy? how do we catagorize that?

I am not in a position to create a system where you have to pick from alot of different options to narrow down the search...

I think the first decision is.. what do we as a commnity allow to be posted in the members albums? After we come to that conclusion.. then we can take it a step further on how to sort to make it easier to find what ya want...

What cars to allow? Well 1st gens are out, no Formulas available. Second, third, and fourth gens could have similar optioned cars that were either Formulas or T/As, so both should be allowed. Really the only differences are cosmetic and mass, but under the skin, identical. If the site and/or galleries become overrun with T/As, then maybe in the future seperate galleries would be in order, but no matter limit the pics to the all mighty Formula and it's skirt wearing big brother the Trans Am.

I think since Jon owns the site he has the right to decide what to do with it and if he wants to have it primarily for Formulas its his call as how to do it.

I also see that the site has grown beyond just Formulas in our passion for this car. I dont know what % is Formula and what % is TA but I bet it is something like 60/40. That may not be even close - just a guess. Is that too big a number to not let them play with us in the Members picture gallery?

So I'm with you Jon - however you decide to take this Pontiac Source - hummmm...

I've posed the question in poll form myself in the forums before, but that was way back when I drove a Formula and the board has changed much since then so maybe it is time for a new poll. For most usual users, I think the Formula is still well in the majority around here. Hence the name...

Whatever, I got the gallery created for my '93 so if need be the '98 one can be deleted.

You could change the rear tail and front bumper and no one would know!

All Aftermarket Models based on Firebird.. ie. ProAm, FireHawk etc

and the list goes on.. get the hint? good...

this is why we can create 3 diff albums.. but it must be a Firebird...
absolutly no vettes, mustangs, camaros.. just the Pontiac Firebird...

so the years to choose from will be

1967 - 2002 this covers the whole Firebird Heritage... as a matter of fact.. I think this is a good idea so we may show others what other kind of models that are going around out there..

I think in a never ending list of technicalities, and what ifs.. this solutions will be the best.. if a lone photo of a vette is found, or the like.. it will be deleted..

I like the makes and models that we are not allowing in the albums BTW.. but this is all just a big effort to create an illusion of conformity here at the site.. however blurred this illusion may be

just wanted to note that eceryone that has posted in this thread has a gallery icon.. wonder what this means?

Actually you could order the big wing on a 4th gen. Formula from the factory. Wonder why so few did?

Actually I did mine with old fashioned 35mm, then had Kodak put it on a Picture CD for me. I just had to add this for anyone out there like me that doesn't have the digi cam, yet wants to post some pics(told ya I worked hard for them). The hard work was all in getting the car prettied up, the Kodak Picture CD and the associated software is very easy to use. The photoshop in their software is idiot proof, and I need all the help I can get sometimes

alright.. the search feature for member albums is now complete.. along with all other features and functions associated with the gallery.

The Gallery is now a finished product and stable. I will be doing a Article on all the features of this new corner of the website as time permits.

I hope the search feature helps in your search for a better way of sorting through the member only albums..

thanks for the extra push to make our gallery easier and hopefully better for everyone..

Well for me I was driving a 97 Teal Camaro V6 5 speed in 2000. The tires were bald - time to get new ones, the love bugs had eaten up the front paint - acid in their damn bodys and I was negligent in keeping them off enough, and the interior was Lt grey and stained from my kids so when I drove past the pontiac dealer and saw Formie I took her the way she was. Maybe I should have ordered one and gotten the M6 but at the time I thought I was going to share the Bird with the wife and she wanted an automatic. The big tail wasnt even a glimmer in my eye at the time. I may have gotten one.

well.. perhaps product was the wrong word to use.. but you know what I mean...

I said i was done.. but i think really.. after all.. even the search query idea was weak.. you couldnt tell how many albums were in each year, or even if there were any.. so i took it a step further and went ahead and just listed all years including how many albums are in each year and some other variables that might help you browse the member albums sections... I like this better....

What is the Catagory link for?

the catagory links are for the catagories other thena the members albums.. like the formula graveyard "DEarly Departed Formulas" and other catagories that will be created in the future that you will be able to upload to.. right now though.. only the aforemementioned catagory is enabled for member uploading...
