David Newhardt, an author that specializes in automobile books, is putting together a coffee table book about the Firebird.

David has authored many other books in the past and writes for Motorbooks International. I personally spoke to David and he explained to me that he needed help with locating 87-2002 Firebird Formulas to feature in his up and coming book.

Davis has about 2 weeks untill he hits his deadline and is willing to travel to see your car. He advised me that he could travel within the California area, and even to the Phoenix Arizona area.

Here are some words from David as ..

Hello, My name is David Newhardt and I am an automotive writer/photographer. I am writing/photographing a full-color book on Firebirds/Trans Am's for Motorbooks Internatiional. I live in Pasadena, CA and am looking for clean, orginial looking Formula's to photograph for the book. The book will be in stores in Spring, 2005. This is the fifth book I have written for MBI, I have supplied photography for at least a score of other books. Amazon.com has most of my books for sale.

Doing a search for David's past work in google provided a very fruitfull RESULT.

Below is his contact informaton.. and tell him that TFS sent you!!! He is a nice guy and can almost vouch that he is a fan just like we are!! Any help that we can give him will be reflected in the quality of the book that is published as a end result..

thanks alot in advance everyone.

Wow- wonder if he'd like to see a red 1997 Formula with 44,500 original miles. Too bad I'm not in Cali. Actaully, I'm glad I'm not in Cali. tongue.gif

Since jedimaster brought this topic to the top again, I guess I'll update everyone on this.

David did get this book finished and it was published in 2005. The book was put out by Motorbooks and on the cover is a partial hood/front clip pic of a "Bandit" Edition T/A. On the cover it says Muscle Car Color History and the main title of the book is Firebird Trans Am (all in capital letters). The cost of the book is $24.95. It's a really nice soft-cover book with lots of great pics and info in it. And before anyone asks, yea I've got a copy of it in my collection. blush.gif

Oh and this is something that both formula90 and I are proud of - on the page where David acknowledges those who helped make the book possible, TFS is listed as the first website that David thanks! cool.gif So I guess in the book someplace are pics of TFS members cars.

Subject: Photo of Car for MAXIM Magazine

Hi Y’all,

I apologize for the mass email. My name is Bethany Mezick and I’m reaching out on behalf of MAXIM Magazine. We’re running a piece on America’s toughest cities, featuring Fort Worth for it’s muscle cars.

I’m on a tight deadline and have had so much trouble finding the perfect photo. I’m hoping the DAPA may be able to help. I am specifically looking for a horizontal good ol’ boy image of a hot trans am-type (but doesn’t have to be a trans am) car or a photo of a young 20-something guy with a car like this. Maybe something where he’s sitting on the hood or in the window. The photo will run at less than a quarter page and if we were to run an image I would be happy to discuss a usage fee.

My deadline is tomorrow Tuesday the 7th 3pm EST. I know that’s immediate, but as I mentioned, I’m I a pickle. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As I mentioned the photo needs to be horizontal, have been taken in the Fort Worth-Dallas area and hi-res (300 dpi). If any of y’all have a photo that might work or know of someone I can contact, please let me know. I kindly appreciate any assistance. I’m desperate for a really incredible picture that will get our readers excited.

Thank you and best,

Bethany Renee Mezick
