Today I went to the south carolina f and y bodies shootout in darlington to get my first runs in the bird. All i've ever raced before was my v6 sonoma and my old v6 camaro. I figured I would get low 14's (actually I was hoping for low 14's because i think my car still had a few bugs). Thought 13's would be awesome but unlikely. A year ago this car was sitting in my garage totalled and it passed the 100,000 mile mark on the way home tonight. Heavy convertible with the added weight of a roll bar. I took the spare tire and jack out but that's it for weight reduction. All it's got is a Hooker catback, bad oxygen sensor, 2.73 gears, 3/4 tank of gas at the time of race, and it could probably use some new plugs and wires. It's also an auto.
Got 8 runs total today. For a while there i was pretty consistent in the 14.1's ranging from 14.13 @ 98.5 to a couple 14.19's @ about 96. Had a 14.2 in there and another for my last run of the day. My dad was talking to me about my consistency when they announced a bracket racing thing where you pay $5 tell what you are gonna run and the closest to there time wins. Yea......told em 14.17 and went 14.43....later realized i had left the AC on mad.gif
But it's ok cuz my second to last run i went against my friend's 11.6 second LS1 camaro. He only went 12.6 for some reason ( he thinks he broke his posi) but I got a 13.99 @ 96.62 with a 2.021 60 ft. got into the 13's woohoo
I have anothere rear with 3.42 gears so i think i may put that one in in a week or 2 and see what it does at the local track. Then come the mods biggrin.gif

Thats an awsome time for sure. Ought to be 13.6's with a set of 3.42's under it.
