well, before i put my edelbrock TES headers on, the best I could pull was a 14.3@99.5mph. (having traction and tuning issues). After I put the headers on, I went back to the track, no other mods, and did not fix the tuning issues and ran a 13.9@102mph. Now, I am probably going to the track again tonight, this time with much better tuning (still not there yet) and flowmaster cat back exhaust. Will keep you all posted.

Wow, that's a great pick up with just headers. Was there a big weather difference in there as well?

Nope, both nights it was in upper 60s with about the same humidity... I can't wait to try it out again tonight with the cat-back installed, cause I think that and the headers will work great together! I will post that as well. Supposed to be the same weather tonight, and I'm using the same tires, so this test is more or less controlled. I also run 4 or so runs and average them.

yeah .4 is a great pickup for just headers. I mean a stall converter wil give you about .5-.6 but .4 with headers is awesome. Maybe your driving had something to do with it!

Results like that are what makes all that labor putting them in worth it.

judging from your sig it seems those headers were just what you needed to free it all up.

Did you do the LT4 knock module when you put the headers on? Just curious.

Not just a fluke............headers will definetly gine upwards to the .5 gain that is being spoken about here....I've witnessed it many times.....
Fastbird, are you running out at Bithlo................that's a beat-down track that is in need of MAJOR repairs(like the pothole right before the eigth.

). I'd be willing to bet that you'd even get near the 13.5 mark or so at the Volusia strip........
The beaters have the start washed out and done for by 8:00......usually the first run is the best, after that the sorry locals glaze it over, then traction is gone....dr's even have a time gripping.

I guess after thinking about it I have seen .5 on cars that have internal engine mods!!! I can't wait to run my car this spring. The rules have changed I can run DR's and go as fast as 115 without a cage. I don't think the car is good for any vetter that a high 11.7 unless I do more mods. But sorry I am all done people. It is my street car and I am happy with it. it runs flawless and I am not going to the next level. I am afraid of ruining it.

yes, I do have an lt4 knock module installed, as I have 1.6 rr's and it is necessary. Ran a really advanced spark with no knock. Dennis, I was running out at Bithlo, and yes, my first run is always the best, then it goes downhill from there. a very slick track. My dad lives near rockingham, so I'm gonna head up there one of these days and see what I can do there. Supposed to be one of the fastest tracks out there.

Thanks. I think I finally realized that If I want to go to the next level I am goign to have to do things to the car that cannot be reversed (like mini tubs, and a cage)
I love it the way it is!
